Referrals & Rebates

Standard session fees vary depending on your psychologist and the rebates available to you. these generally vary between $200 and $250. We recommend you contact us directly to help you work out what this may look like for you. You may be eligible for a rebate through the following avenues.

Allied Health/Service Provider & GPs Referrals

If you’re a GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist, you can make a referral in the patient’s name. The referral letter should be addressed to Psychology Clinical Rooms and include:

  • Your name and date of birth

  • Diagnosis & symptoms

  • Request for therapy services and number of sessions you are being referred for.

Medicare Rebates

Client’s referred via a Mental Health Care Plan (MHTP) are entitled to a Medicare rebate for each session, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year:

  • The Medicare rebate for the following are:

    • Psychologist: $98.95 per session (up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year).

    • Clinical Psychologist: $145.25 per session (up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year).We offer reduced rates for Health Care Card holders or Pension Card holders.

To be eligible for one of the above Medicare rebates, you need your GP, psychiatrist or pediatrician to give you a referral.

Private Health Insurance

Most health funds provide access to psychological services. You will be issued with a receipt, which you can use to claim on your private health insurance. We advise you get in contact with your respective health insurer to discuss applicable rebates as this can differ according you your insurer and level of coverage.

Please note, clients are only eligible for one form a rebate at a time, either through Medicare or through private health insurance.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

We can provide services to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS Clients who will be able to submit payment requests on their Myplace portal and get a re-imbursement.

Payment:

  • The easiest way to process payments is via our online system where we use debit details with your permission. This is confidential and allows us to process this payment and issue you with a receipt at no extra time to you.

  • All payments are processed at the conclusion of your appointment

  • All receipts are sent via email for you records.
